A columnar tree and a timber reasource, it can grow up to 40 m tall. It is to be found mostly in the South of the Main Island at an altitude of 100 m - 700 m. Occurs predominantly on ultramafic substrate. IUCN conservation Red List status: Lower Risk

It is usually located in evergreen rainforest on valley sides.
